1. Why do we study art? What benefits can we gain from studying art?Art is “the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power” (Oxford Dictionary). So, what does this mean? We may think of art as something that is created purposefully with some meaning in mind. In other words, someone takes an idea and uses his or her skill to transfer that idea into an object, performance, or other form of art.
